Beetle has recently announced an Android 2.2 powered 7 inch tablet Beetel MagiQ BMQ 01 in India. The most exciting aspect however is its price, which is surprisingly low, infact the lowest Indian market has seen.Priced at 8990 the tablet surely offers a great bang for buck.If you arent familiar with the brand Beetle, its a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel.
The new Reliance Android tablet which is creating a lot of buzz these days definitely caught the attention of other telecom operators, this move by Airtel proves it did attract their attention atleast for sure.
The specs of Beetel MagiQ BMQ 01 are pretty decent and are on par with its competition, again at a much lower price.Lets have a look at the specifications of this new Android tablet.
Beetel Android Tablet MaqiQ BMQ 01 Specifications.
Display : 7 inch Resistive Touch,480*800 Resolution.
OS : Android 2.2 Froyo.
Processor: 1GHz Qualcomm.
RAM: 512 MB.
Memory : 8 GB internal,16 GB external expandable via memory card.
Connectivity: WiFi,3G HSDPA,EDGE,Bluetooth 2.1,USB 2.0.
Camera: Primary 2 MP (rear).Secondary VGA (front).
So these are the main specifications of the Beetel Android tablet. The device supports all latest high speed connectivity solutions like 3G HSDPA and WiFi and as you can see has an impressive 1 GHz processor.
The Tablet however runs the older Froyo (android 2.2) even though its been a while since tablet exclusive Android 3.0 Honeycomb is out,but there also is another side of the coin,as of now there arent many apps on Honeycomb and for a 7 inch device Android 2.2 would be just fine as you get to have tons of apps, but however it should atleast have been Android 2.3-the latest mobile OS version, like Reliance is offering. But that’s not all,the most disappointing thing about it is that it sports a Resistive screen which takes away all the excitement.
The competition as we have already mentioned is clearly the recenlty in news,Reliance Android tablet and if you are thinking-Which is better, the below comparision should help.
Airtel Beetel MagiQ BMQ 01 VS Reliance Android Tablet
Display: The Reliance Tab is a 7 inch Capacitive touch screen device VS Resistive in Beetel Magiq.
Processor: The processor in the Reliance tab is unknown 800 MHz one,but the one in Beetel is a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor which is quite promising.
Memory : This is another place where the reliance tablet scores over the Airtel’s Beetle tablet, apart from the 8GB internal memory the reliance tablet supports upto 32 GB external microsd card expandable memory compared to 16 GB in beetel tablet.
Data:Reliance tab comes with a catch, not only is it locked to reliance but you are forced to opt for 3G data packages along with it,but beetle is unlocked and can be used with any carrier or you can simply use it on WiFi.
Please note that the reliance tablet offers WiFi hotspot feature, which actually is a feature of android OS,it doesn’t support WiFi connectivity,so for you to connect to the internet 3G is the only way.
OS:The Reliance tab ships with latest mobile version of Android viz 2.3 gingerbread compared to 2.2 Froyo as in Beetel Android tab.
Price:The Beetel MagiQ though is cheaper and carrier free,is a resistive touch screen tablet. The reliance tablet on the other hand is 4K INR costlier and also forces you to opt for a 3G data plan.
So what would it be, a resisitive touch tablet from beetle (which, mind you,can get really irritating at times) or a capacitive touch Reliance tablet ,** with a catch.
what will be your pick ?

I like airtel slate very much price 9999.But LACS magnum slate having very much less price than this i.e 6250.the fuctions r aa neary same so why cost os too high?

I think Airtel scores over reliance primarily in processor used and the airtel wont restrict users for a fix 3G plan unlike Reliance…The only improved feature Airtel could have bring is the capacitive screen rather than a resistive one..

Magiq is a very good tablet but the only and the major drawback is RESISTIVE touch.
Processor is good, RAM 512 is good , 3G is good, but all these r of no use with resistive experience.
Anyone has any suggestions in 10 to 12k range for a TAB with inbuilt 3g, hdmi, 7 to 8″, 1 ghz, 512 ram, & most imp CAPACITIVE?
Chinese tabs r also considerable.
